Marble Fireplaces

Marble fireplaces are manufactured from polished sectional components due to the weight and physical handling practicalities. Generally speaking these are a hearth, the main body standing on the hearth, [which can be a complete section, or components made up of two uprights ('legs') and a header section].  A back panel, either as a whole with a "cut-out" to accommodate an inset fire or, as a three piece back panel, together with a mantel top.

The marble fireplace traditionally was made directly from natural material extracted from the earth which had been formed over millions of years. In recent years the resources of fine quality natural materials have been more difficult to obtain and increasing we are seeing more micro marble fireplaces. These fireplaces although manufactured from marble do however benefit from a uniform appearance throughout which is often preferred today and suits the modern fireplace and contemporary design.
