Wall Mounted Electric Fires

Wall Mounted Electric Fires or 'Hang-on-the-Wall' fires are designed to be used on any flat wall where there is access to an electric socket. They simply plug in with a wired plug, or alternatively can be wired directly into a fused spur [wired into the back eliminating the need for a plug. This gives a neater appearance as the cable is normally concealed and all that is visible is an on/off switch. The fused spur also contains a suitably rated fuse which is easily replaced]. This type of electric fire is supplied with a fixing bracket which is then screwed to the wall and the fire is then simply hung onto the bracket. The majority of electric fires and electric fire suites have a fan heater which directs the heat downwards into the room and allows for a television to be mounted above if required. Obviously the full protrusion of the fire is seen, although many electric fire has a removable spacer frame. When removed this would allow partial inset into say a chimney breast or cavity that would accommodate the depth required, giving a more flush appearance.
