Electric Inset Fires

Electric inset fires are the modern day equivalent of the traditional older style outset electrical fire which stood on a hearth or plinth. Modern technology has brought about an advanced realistic flickering flame effect with the introduction of vertical ribbons blown gently by a small internal fan. These flame effect electric fires allow for a constant and reliable flame picture that could not be acheived by spinners placed over the lamps. 

 A recess is required such as a chimney breast, fireplace opening, cavity or constructed mock chimney breast that will accommodate the electric fires body depth. If using an open chimney breast, it is a good idea to considerably reduce the draw of air up the chimney from the room. A large bin liner filled with crumpled up newspaper (resembling the look of a balloon) can be pushed up into the chimney. This will then allow the chimney to still breathe, but stops anything falling down the chimney onto the fire as well as serving the purpose of unnecessary heat loss from the room.
