Hole-in-the-Wall Electric Fires

The 'Hole-in-the-Wall' electric fire is intended to be recessed into a wall that  provides adequate depth to accommodate the body depth of the fire such as a chimney breast or cavity. This gives the fire a flush appearance when fitted and also less space is required within the room. Most electric fires of this type however are supplied with a spacer frame should a flat wall installation be required. They simply plug in with a wired plug, or alternatively can be wired directly into a fused spur [wired into the back eliminating the need for a plug, giving a neater appearance as the cable is normally concealed and all that is visible is an on/off switch. The fused spur also contains a suitably rated fuse which is easily replaced]. The majority of this type of electric fire and electric fire suites have a fan heater which directs the heat downwards into the room and allows for a television to be mounted above if required.
