Electric Fires

Choice abounds with today's modern electric fires which fall into four main catagories, depending on where they are intended to be sited. A free standing electric fire is intended for flat wall siting or where there is no depth within the fireplace to accommodate the body of the fire. Inset electric fires are normally intended to sit within a fireplace opening, but some have the option of also being free standing with the use of an additional spacer frame. Hole in the Wall electric fires are generally larger and intended for use without a fireplace, but an opening can be provided to accommodate the body of the fire e.g. chimney breast or similar framework. Wall mounted electric fires otherwise refered to as Hang-on-the-Wall electric fires as the names suggest can simply be hung by means of a bracket directly onto a flat surface. The advantage of the electric fire is that it can provide the ambience of a cosy warming fire glow with or without the heater setting!
